Antipolo Senior Basketball
Team Wins Over Cainta@111-65 It's PAY DAY time! The 15th of May surely paid off as the Senior Basketball Team wins over Cainta at almost a half century margin, after a heartbreaking loss against the Montalban team at Rodriguez Gym. At the beginning seconds of the first quarter, the Antipolo Team's first five (Hubalde, Zapanta, De Castro, Protacio, Manding) pumped up so early, as they rattled the Cainta's offense, and shackelled the opponent's every defense attempt, through fastbreak plays from De Castro and Zapanta. Derek Hubalde provided occasional 3 point shots, and the Antipolo team lead as high as 11 at the end of the first. At Second, the second unit of Antipolo (Ober, Muyco, Enrile, Flomasil, Del Fonso) took advantage of the investment, and gained the interest by converting 3-points shots to continue the rally. Antipolo leads 30 points at the end of the half. But Cainta, led by ABL's slam dunk king Villanueva, who was already 3 fouls during the 1st quarter, backed up by the team's No-Pressure Rubale, rallied back. The rally reduced Antipolo's lead to 20, but the occasional 3 point shots of Hubalde and fastbreaks of Zapanta, and De Castro, seemed unmatched by the Cainta's defense. Zapanta led the 3rd quarter by unstoppable fastbreak plays provided by the whole team. Antipolo leads by 40 at the start of the 4th Quarter, and Cainta raised the flag so early. Defense of both teams laid low, as if the players were just waiting for the game to end. Because of this, high leaping players of both teams were able to make show time dunks like Antipolo's Enrile and Cainta's Villanueva, who, though beaten, was applauded for 3 great SLAM Dunk moves at the ending parts of the game.
